Natalie Vriend

Natalie is a Consultant, predominantly advising in our competition litigation and regulation practices.  She pairs rigorous technical expertise with strong intuition, to deliver clear and precise insights that directly inform and influence the decisions our clients make.

Since joining Economic Insight in 2022, Natalie has worked on a wide range of regulatory and competition matters.  In regulation, Natalie has significant experience in assessing the cost of capital and financeability, having advised Wessex Water, Northumbrian Water, and National Gas in these areas.  She is adept at employing complex econometric analysis and modelling to provide high quality advice to our energy and water clients on these matters.

In competition, she has supported clients both in assessing (potential) damages in class actions, in particular due to alleged abuses of dominance, and in providing merger risk assessments as preparation for client engagement with the CMA.  Prior to joining Economic Insight, Natalie worked at the CMA on a high-profile phase II merger.
